There has never been a better time to be an entrepreneur. Technology is advancing faster by the day and services are cropping up everywhere that we can use to our advantage. But before I tell you how, I want to tell you a little about my first business.
It failed. Big time. I’m certainly not shy about telling you this as I learnt an immense amount from it. It failed for various reasons but the main part was down to the fact that I was afraid to assign work to other people – despite me having two partners and various people on board to help. I just couldn’t let go of tasks that needed doing as I thought I would do them much better than anyone else.
How I was wrong. In order to grow you need to do three things… delegate… delegate… delegate. Trust me, if you to succeed this is this only way to do so. Sure you can plod along at a certain level and pay the bills. But don’t you want more? Why would you go to all the effort of setting up in business if you are happy to struggle from one month to the next?
There are many ways in which you can delegate work out at a cheap (yet productive) price. Post work through social media. You wouldn’t believe how much people want to help if you just have the courage to ask.
If you have one-off tasks then you can pitch it out through sites like Fiverr. It can also be useful so spend a week making a note of every task you do and note whether of note you could offer it out. Social media, general admin, site maintenance and so on. laborious tasks that, if given to the right person will save you both time and money in the long run. It’s an absolute no-brainer. Trust me.
Give it a go. Pick one task this week that you think you could assign to someone else and post it somewhere like Fiverr. You will find that once you realise the potential, you will be looking deeply into what else you can assign out.
